TBIS Genealogy Services Offers a Professional
Genealogy Service direct from Register House in Edinburgh. TBIS Will have access
to all the records in Register House, births after 1905, deaths after 1955 and
marriages after 1930. Ideally we will try our utmost to take your family history
back to 1855 and possibly earlier.
The advice from TBIS would be that if you are looking for a birth between 1855
and 1905, a specific death between 1855 and 1955, a specific marriage between
1855 and 1930 and a Census Return then it would be easier and a lot less
expensive to research that one specific piece of information on your own at the Scotland's
People website. TBIS Genealogy Services can research one piece of
information for you if you wish but we are very conscious of the fact that it
would be a very expensive venture when you could quite easily complete that
research on your own at a fraction of the cost.
TBIS Genealogy Services in partnership with E
Photo Albums, offer a 3D Page Turning Genealogy E Book of your family
history. You will have the choice of this 3D page turning Gnealogy E Book
charged at £10 per page or a simple E Mail outlining your family history. This
3D Page turning E Book will be posted to your home address. TBIS Genealogy
Services would recommend the 3D Book to our customers, this will be a lasting
reminder of your family history or why not consider the book as a Birthday or
Christmas present for a family member.
If you look at the website for Register
House you will have an idea of the resources available to us.
Best Wishes in
your search,

GENEALOGY - WHAT IS IT? Genealogy is the study of family
history. It originated as an oral tradition, the ancestry of
important members of society (especially sovereigns) being memorized
by a priest or bard. Later these lists of ancestors were written
down, usually, in the family Bible. Since the 16th century records of family
descent have been strictly kept in many countries, so that most
people in Western Europe if they wished could trace their ancestry,
either through their own efforts, or by commissioning a genealogical
research specialist, such as TBIS Genealogy Services. A chart
showing genealogical descent is a pedigree; this may be
crucial in establishing a matter of inheritance. In countries where
wealth and position were commonly inherited, such as here in
Scotland, genealogy has been very important; but even in countries
where the legal and social reasons for interest in genealogy are
fewer, such as the USA and Australia, many still attempt to trace
their family
tree.
